We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy sets out how any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.
This policy applies to your use of our online application at http://esplor.io and any Esplorio mobile, tablet or native software applications (together ‘our applications’) and applies to any personal data we collect through our applications.
We may collect and process the following data about you:
Device Information: we may collect information about the smart phone, tablet, computer or other device that you use to access the applications, including, where available, that device's unique identifiers, crash data, operating system, and browser type.
Location Information: when you use one of our location-enabled services, for example allowing our applications to import your Foursquare check-ins, we may collect and process information about your actual location.
Log Information: when you use our applications, we may automatically collect and store certain information in server logs, including but not limited to your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and language, clickstream data, viewed and exited pages, and the date and time of your requests.
If you would like a complete list of the cookies that Esplorio uses, please contact us at email@example.com and we will be happy to provide you with one.
All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers, and all data sent to and from Esplorio is encrypted. Once we have received your information, we will take all the steps we reasonably can to keep it as secure. However, please be aware that we cannot provide any guarantees about our services or products.
We use information held about you in the following ways:
Subject to what we say below under the subheading ‘Disclosure Of Your Information’, we do not disclose information that will identify you personally to third parties, but we may perform trend analysis. This means we may collect and pass on non-personally identifiable information about our users (for example, we may record or tell an airline that 500 of our users went to Spain last month).
We may also use the information that we collect about you to offer customised content, which may include travel suggestions, so for instance if a lot of your Facebook friends live in New York, we might tell you about the airlines that fly there, flight times, and flight prices.
There are only specific situations in which we may disclose your personal information to third parties:
By default, all of the content that you post or upload to our applications remains private, so that only you are able to view it. However, we give you the opportunity to select and share parts of your content, particularly trips, with others when you wish to. This means that the content you choose to share will be visible to third parties. You are responsible for the content that you share and the consequences of sharing that content, and of course at all times agree to be bound by our Terms of Service. You can stop sharing content by using the controls in our applications.
Our site may, from time to time, contain links to external websites. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that Esplorio has no control over their content, and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for them.
The Data Protection Act 1998 (‘the Act’) gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of 10 GBP to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you. We will provide these details in a digital form.
For the purpose of the Act, the data controller is Esplorio Limited of Ewert House, Ewert Place, Banbury Road, Summertown, Oxford OX2 7DD.
